Resume Sejarah : Kebudayaan Lembah Sungai Gangga

Didukung oleh bangsa Arya (Indo-Jerman). Bangsa Arya yang ingin menguasai dan menyingkirkan bangsa Dravida beserta kebudayaannya. Bangsa Arya menjuluki bangsa Dravida dengan sebutan "Annasa" (hampir tak berhidung) dan menganggap bangsa Dravida rendah.

Disini akulturasi budaya Arya + Dravida menjadi budaya Hindu. Orang Arya menduduiki wilayah sungai Gangga sehingga daerah tersebut disebut Aryawarta (milik bangsa Arya). Mereka membentuk daerah yang disebut Hindustan. Tetapi bangsa Dravida dibedakan dari bangsa Arya dengan pembagian kasta. (Kasta sudra yang kebanyakan dari golongan Dravida).

Orang yang melanggar peraturan kasta, akan dikeluarkan dari kastanya sendiri. Adapun kasta Paria, kasta yang tidak diterima di kalangan masyarakat (golongan tunawisma). Oleh Mahatma Gandhi, tokoh nasionalis di India, kasta Paria disebut "Candala".

Resume Sejarah : Kebudayaan Lembah Sungai Indus

Kebudayaan lembah sungai Indus dimulai ketika India masih dihuni oleh suku Dravida. Yang memiliki kebudayaan yang tinggi. Terbukti dengan adanya bangunan kota kuno (Mahenjo-Daro dan Harappa).

Kebudayaan tinggi iniseperti sudah direncanakan. Terbukti dengan:

1. Bahan bangunan: terbuat dari batu bata yang dibuat oleh manusia dan bukan dari batu kali.
   
2. Adanya jalanan kota.
3. Kebersihan kota dan tata air.
4. Mengenal arca dario tanah liat logam

Kehidupan mereka apabila dilihat secara lanjut:

1. Bermata pencaharian agraris.
2. Kepercayaannya terhadap Dewi Kesuburan (Dewi Laksmi), di Indonesia disebut Dewi Sri.
3. Kebudayaannya sudah mengenal tulisan dalam bentuk pictograph (berupa gambar binatang), membuat benda dari gerabah atau lainnya seperti perunggu, mengenal alat pertanian; tembikar dan periuk; mengenal Terracota/ lempengan dari tanah liat yang dibakar berbentuk segi empat dan diberi gambar binatang (badak, gajah, rusa, babi, dan lain-lain)
4. Percaya pada Totenisme

Runtuhnya kebudayaan Indus dikarenakan bencana alam seperti tanah longsor dan banjir, wabah penyakit kemudian penduduknya pindah ke daerah lain, serangan dari Bangsa Arya yang ingin menguasai daerah tersebut (terutama Sungai Gangga) dan menanamkan kebudayaan baru, yaitu kebudayaan Sungai Gangga.
